To eat the North Georgia trout dish at Joey D’s Oak Room is to experience the power of restraint. There is no need for sauces, foams or even garnish. Instead, the focus is on the trout’s own quiet virtues — the pristine, flaky white flesh and the skin seared to a delicate crackle. It is grilled simply, so its natural oils baste the fish from the inside out. The skin releases a toasted nuttiness that complements the faint sweetness of the tender flesh, which breaks into small, moist flakes. Along with the smoky char, it tastes clean, like wet stones after a rain. The parchment-like crisp skin is the best part. A squeeze of grilled lemon adds acidity, cutting any richness and emphasizing the incredibly fresh flavor. A heap of simply dressed peppery arugula is a perfect match to the hot, bright and savory fish.

CentraArchy Restaurants Express Gratitude to Armed Forces
Atlanta (Oct. 2, 2025) – Local restaurants are honoring the hard work and sacrifices of U.S. military with a special discount on Veterans Day.
At all 15 CentraArchy Restaurants, on Nov. 11, any U.S. veteran or active-duty member of the armed forces with I.D. is invited to enjoy any entrée from the full menu at half price.
“We greatly appreciate U.S. veterans and active armed forces personnel for their service to our nation and in the local communities for our restaurants,” said CentraArchy Restaurants CEO Vince Van Brunt. “We invite veterans and active-duty military to enjoy regular menu entrées including fresh seafood, aged steaks and other popular items at half price on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.”
Honored guests are encouraged to book reservations online in advance and bring a valid military I.D. or proof of military service to enjoy half-off any entrée from the restaurant’s regular dinner menu. The special half price offer is valid for dine-in only.
